Ivan Vaughn Hicks was born on August 11, 1965, to Morris and Ruth Hicks. He was a graduate of Paxon Senior High School and Jones College with a degree in Business Administration. He was previously employed at the State Attorney’s Office and most recently with River Region Services. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Ruth Hicks, and son, Ernest Thompson. He leaves behind: his devoted wife, Tonga Hicks; his mother-in-law, Lorrine Mitchell, and fatherin- law, Earnest Walker (Shericka); his children, sons, Chadrick Vaughn Hicks, Sr., Sandarius Jerome, Vaughn Hicks, Sr., and Marcus Mitchell, and daughter, Kateena Thompson; his siblings, sister, Jackie Bevel, and brothers, Ivor Hicks, Ira (Octavia) Hicks, Anthony Hicks, Richard (Kanatha) Hicks, and Morris (Vera) Hicks; sisters-in-law, Chauntrell (Anthony) Critten, Erica Walker, Ebony (Alan) Thomas, and Essence Walker; brother-in-law, Earnest (Michelle) Walker; his grandchildren, Chadrick Vaughn Hicks, Jr., Sandarius Jerome Vaughn Hicks, Jr., Janiyah Milton, Kimora, Rudolph, and Reign Floyd, Greg, Evan, and Emoni Thompson, and Markia, Marcus, Mason, Bryson, Kingston, and Mariah Mitchell; his godmother; Lemira Hinson; a goddaughter; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
