Mikiya Kor’shea McClendon born February 6, 2016.To the proud parents of Ebony McClendon & Karen McQueen, and father Mr. Malcolm “Bawse” Gilford, Sr. The arrival of Mikiya filled the lives of so many near and far as we watched her grow over the months. This was our little Princess and now will forever be our little angel. Mikiya was preceded in death by her Grandparents Annie Retha McClendon and Alvin Stubbs, Uncle Cleve McClendon Princess Mikiya will always be remembered in the hearts of her loved ones to carry on her precious memories Parents Ebony McClendon and Karen McQueen, Godparents Marquita (Robert) Chatfield of Jacksonville, FL and Leon Huckoby (Philadelphia, PA), Aunts Evonne (Anthony) Davis and Ruby (Greg) White of Florence, SC; 2 Great Aunts Wanda (John) Hanes and Iris (Charles) Wynder, 4 Great Uncles Alphonso (Nadine) McClendon, David (Sonya) McClendon, Labaron (Samantha) McClendon, all of Bridgeton, N.J., and Mark McClendon of Fayetteville, NC., a host of loving cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Poem: Precious Little One I’m just a precious little one who didn’t make it there. I went straight to be with Jesus, but I’m waiting for you here. Many dwelling here where I live, waited years to enter in. Struggled through a world of sorrow a world marred with pain and sin. Thank you for the life you gave me. It was brief but don’t complain. I have all Heaven’s Glory, suffered none of earths great pain. Thank you for the name you gave me, I’d loved to bring it fame. But if I’d lingered in earth’s shadows, I would have suffered just the same. So sweet family –don’t you sorrow. Wipe those tears and chase the gloom. I went straight to Jesus’ arms from my loving mother’s womb.
