Rosa Lee Mitchell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sibling. Her caring and nurturing spirit was admired and appreciated by a host of family and friends. When you stopped by the Mitchell’s home in the spring time, you were greeted by Rosa’s love for beautiful flowers. Once inside, you could smell the delicious food simmering on the stove, all were welcome to eat. We can’t forget about her amazing sweet potatoes pies, what a sweet blessing to those who were so fortunate to experience. A native of Halifax, North Carolina, Rosa was married to her devoted husband, Thurman Mitchell Sr for over 50 years. She received her education through the Halifax County school system. At a young age, Rosa’s father taught her how to sew which later developed into a career as a seamstress. Her leisure time was spent reading the bible, countless hours of crossword puzzles and enjoying the fun and laughter of her grandchildren. Rosa was predeceased by her beloved husband Thurman Sr, 5 brothers and one sister. She is survived by her sons Willie Mitchell (Renee), Thurman Mitchell Jr. (Sheila), Tony Mitchell (Shelly), step-daughter Heidi Hooker, siblings Olla Mae Loftin (Clarence), Ella Mae Richardson, grandchildren Dominique, Rochelle, Tony Jr, Latasha, Thurman III, Judith and great-grandchildren Ameya and Isaiah. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
